Lent Is Hard
Things I have turned down or cancelled this week:
Iberian Wine Tasting at 21 Oceanfront
Napa Wine Tasting at Southcoast Plaza
Weekend in Vegas
Celebrating Mark Monsod's birthday at Outback Steakhouse
Nanny did put things in perspective for me as she had told me she did a 21-day fast of only fruits, vegetables, water and green tea while I am simply giving up going to restaurants for dinner. However, I was determined to remain unassuaged by this for at least 2 hours. Shortly thereafter though, Nanny's infectious spirit (which consisted of berating me for my lack of willpower) spilled over and subsequently, I picked up my determination again.
I remain focused.
