Voltron or Transformers? Who wins?
Voltron definitely has a cool concept I think...intergalactic space travellers who use lionoids that end up connecting to make a big android which then raises the Blazing sword ultimately in the end that ends up defeating the enemy...you just can't get better than that. It also has that nostalgic feel to it. Please note the Power Rangers can never compare. Do not compare. 
The Transformers are very different and the story is much more sophisticated. Machines that are alive. Some befriend the humans, some do not. There is a war going on between the machines. Humans never occupy or control the machines really. The transformers all have hidden identities and day jobs.

The downside to Voltron was that although the main story line was very confusing, the daily episodes were very formulaic: A monster plans to destroy planet...seems like it will defeat Voltron...Voltron suddenly remembers it can connect and then remembers later after a few blows the Blazing Sword. It destroys the enemy. Lame.

Sure we remember Optimus Prime, Hot Rod, etc., but the story is just complex and has so many characters, it's sometimes hard to keep up.
So let's settle this once and for all...Voltrons or The Transformers?

This is a tough choice. But growing up I was always partial to Voltron. True, the episodes were extremely formulaic. But, you have to admit, the formula was pretty damn cool! Each lion has it's own special hiding place, it's own driver and came out in a really cool way. Then they all join together to kick some...
I will gladly admit it, the formula is pretty damn cool. I loved it. I wanted to be the princess so badly.
Although I love both dearly (and you know this to be very true), I would have to vote Voltron on the sheer fact that it was my very first robotic superhero craze. The are the defenders of the universe and you sure can't beat that! But, that's not to downplay Transformers. I must declare that both are excellent and now I feel like I've betrayed my Transformers for voting for Voltron. Darn it! Why, Jessica, why,do you ask such questions!!!
They are tough questions to ask, sister. It's true. But someone must ask the tought questions in life and you must do some soul searching. Voltron wins I guess!
