Using Time Wisely

Or it might seem foolishly. In any case, it was quality time. I've decided to dedicate a vacation day every month to participate in worthy causes.

Last month it was to protest against Fidelity's investment in PetroChina which backs the brutal Sudanese government. It turns out that since, Fidelity has divested. Likely more due to the many UC's, state colleges, and other business that had pulled out of Fidelity in response (Fidelity denies it divested in response to the Save Darfur coalition).

This past month we did Habitat For Humanity and helped build a home. Mostly I did caulking and stuff. It was pretty fun. I need to grab pictures for that though. More to come...

It's been rewarding as usually I am pretty focused on me and don't really care about other people. It's helped me kinda take the focus off myself for a few hours. Heehee. In non-related news (which puts the focus back on me), I fell twice this month on my bike. I guess that's good because it means I've been biking. Bad because I seem to have forgotten how to bike. Just get back on the saddle I guess!
